What kind of books do you have??

Don't be misled by our small shop front. We are a large store with over 2000 square feet of shop space, with plenty of seating and espresso drinks for your enjoyment. Cover to Cover Books has more than 25,000 books of all sorts. Most of our titles are used, but we also carry new books. Our areas of emphasis are Military History, Metaphysics, Collectibles, Science Fiction and Fantasy, Fiction, Childrens and Young Adult, and History. We will special order new books. We provide out-of-print book search services for a small additional fee.

All about Smedley...

Smedley is our shop cat. Cover to Cover Books is his home. He was named after military hero Major General Smedley Butler. He's a fat cat, but he doesn't like to hear customers shout that about him. Smedley likes to be greeted by his friends, and dislikes members of the canine species. He also likes little people if they don't move too fast or make loud noises.

Do you buy books?

Yes! Cover to Cover Books stocks new and used books, and we give in-store credit for used books. We do not pay cash. There is not a flat credit rate for used books, but in general we offer in store credit 25% of what we plan to price the book. When you bring us used books, we take into account the condition, popularity, and salability of what you bring, as well as how many copies on the shelf we have already. These things do change from day to day, as people sell and buy books through us.

Where are you located?

We are at 1817 Main St. in the Uptown Village area of downtown Vancouver, WA. We are at the corner of Main Street and McLoughlin Boulevard, near Mojo's, and the City Dogwash. There is ample free parking available.

How do I find out if you have a particular book?

We're still a bit old-fashioned; we do need you to call or email us. We are working on computerizing our inventory, but that's a process that can take a while. You can also subscribe to our email newsletter--spam free but still delicious.
