4, 5:00-6:30 PM! Come meet and greet other Northwest writers, network, and have a
good time! We're on hiatus for the summer, but
we'll be back in the fall with exciting new guests. Don't forget to mark your calendars! Writers' Mixers happen the first
Saturday of each month, at 5PM. The events are free and do not require a
reservation or RSVP. Light refreshments served. The Writers' Mixers are
hosted at Cover to Cover Books by the Deadly Duo of Carolyn Rose and Mike
Nettleton, local mystery authors and on-air personalities. July 10, 2008, 7pm Poetry Open Microphone hosted by Chris Luna. Come and
share your favorite works by yourself, friends, or favorite poets. July's
featured readers are two of our own, Kori Sayer and Kyle Congdon. Kyle and Kori are
regulars here at Cover to Cover Books and have produced 'zines
of their poetry and traveled up to Burning Word this spring to help represent
the active poetry scene here in SW Washington. Come
and explore the works of these young poets in depth. Every second Thursday at 7PM after closing time, come on
out to the Poetry Open Microphone, hosted by Chris Luna.
Featured poets change each month, but there's always an open microphone for
local poets. Come meet, greet, read and listen! All ages, uncensored. April 23, 2008 6PM Book Launch for Elizabeth Lyon! Author and writing coach
Elizabeth Lyon will launch her latest how-to book on writing craft with a discussion
of revision techniques critical to fiction-writing success. Manuscript Makeover: Revision
Techniques No Fiction Writer Can Afford to Ignore (Perigee

need to create stories that will stand out from the competition and attract
the eyes of agents and editors. Following the discussion, Lyon will field
questions, and sign copies of the book.
