February 6, 2009, 5PM Featuring Pamela Smith Hill
Our next writers' mixer is Saturday, February 6, 5:00-6:30 PM! Come meet and greet other Northwest writers, network, and have a good time! Join us the second Saturday in January when Pamela Smith Hill presents a program about her award-winning biography, Laura Ingalls Wilder: A Writer's Life. Pamela is a former college instructor who made the transition to a writing career. Learn more about Pamela at her website: Pamela Smith Hill.
POETRY OPEN MICROPHONESEvery second Thursday after closing time, come on out to the Poetry Open Microphone, hosted by Chris Luna. Featured poets change each month, but there's always an open microphone for local poets. Come meet, greet, read and listen! Always all ages, always uncensored, always free admission.
February 11, 2009 7PM Poetry Open Microphone hosted by Chris Luna. Come and share your favorite works by yourself, friends, or favorite poets. This month's featured poet is Laura Winter. Laura's new book, Coming Here to Be Alone ($15), is a bilingual English-German edition focused on the High Desert and Great Basin. Her work has been widely published, translated, and set to music for an art song series. Winter currently publishes the occasional TAKE OUT, a bag-a-zine of art, writing and music that features powerul voices from around the globe. Sleeping Leaves will also be available for $8. Everyone who purchases a book at this event will receive a free broadside.
Join us for an evening of inspiring poetry and camaraderie.
